I am not just hosting my website through a web server, I built my own server. At my most recent job, I worked as a student worker at Richland Community College as part of the IT department.

  I had a blast working there. We do recycling of old computer hardware. I don't remember how the conversation came up, but my boss handed me a Ryzen 5 1600 Processor and said "If you can fix it, you can keep it." This CPU had several bent pins and a few more had broken off. After working on it for several hours, I fixed them all using the tip of a mechanical pencil.

  I ran tests at home and the CPU worked great! I bought my motherboard off my bf from his old server, purchased some RAM, then finally came the issue of storage. Due to being a broke college kid, I went dumpster diving and found a bunch of old hard drives being thrown out. I decided to take a few home and run some smart tests on them to see their health, lots of them weren't healthy. I managed to save three. I was using an OS called TrueNAS Scale; however, it didn't have all of the features I was looking for.

  After doing some research, I came across an OS called UnRAID that had all features I needed and more. I find it much easier to use than TrueNAS. At first the CPU was running fine; however, it started to have issues and is no longer usable. I needed my server to run endlessly and still be able to access it days later. I tried everything I could think of to make the CPU stable, but was unsuccessful. So, I went online shopping for a used replacement.
